Henry Taylor

Henry Peter Taylor was born in Barton in the middle of the War of 1812, on November 19, 18131. At age 21, he married Euphemia Smith, also age 212. His sister, Charity, had married Euphemia’s brother, Hiram, making them doubly related. And since Euphemia's great grandfather, Jacob, was a United Empire Loyalist2, 3, and we are decendents of Henry and Euphemia, we can claim UEL status!

Their first child, William Henry, was born in 1835. During the Rebellion of 1838, Henry was a private in the 3 Gore Militia, along with his brothers, Joseph and John4. Over the next few years, from 1840 to 1851, Euphemia gave birth to four more children: Hannah Catherine, Jacob Smith, James Laughlin (our branch of the family tree), and Christina M. Ann.

Euphemia died on May 31, 1881 at age 69, and Henry died on July 19, 1897, aged 831.
